Radio Panini
A community radio, a panini bar, and a dancefloor — all in one room. Born in Copenhagen. Run by friendly people. Open to everyone.
The story
Radio Panini started with a simple idea: what if a radio station felt less like a broadcast and more like a gathering? Two Italians in Copenhagen — Francesco and Simone — wanted to build a space where sound, food, and people could meet without pretension.
The name says it all. Radio: the broadcast, the platform, the signal. Panini: the food, the warmth, the Italian instinct for making people feel at home. Put them together and you get something that's hard to categorise — and that's exactly the point.
We launched in January 2024 from Baggen in Vesterbro, moved to Jolene in Kødbyen, and haven't looked back. What started as a Friday and Saturday broadcast has grown into a full platform — archive, artists, shows, events, and a community that now spans 30+ nationalities.
What we stand for
Community first
This is a platform built by and for the people in the room — hosts, listeners, volunteers, collaborators. Everyone co-creates the culture here.
No elitist bullshit
No VIP section, no fake exclusivity, no velvet rope energy. If you're curious and friendly, you belong here.
Curation with warmth
Good taste matters, but it should never make anyone feel excluded. The best rooms are the ones where everyone feels welcome and the music is still excellent.
Create, don't just consume
We want to make culture, not just package it. That means giving airtime to new voices, experimenting with formats, and taking risks.
Food as hospitality
The panini is not a gimmick. Food is how you say: sit down, stay a while, you're among friends. It's the Italian in us.
Day to night
We move between ambient Saturday afternoon sessions and late-night dancefloor energy. The transformation is part of the magic.
The format
We broadcast live every Friday and Saturday from Jolene, and occasionally for special events throughout the week. The studio sits right on the dancefloor — no glass wall, no separation. You're always part of the broadcast.
We also collaborate with festivals, organise our own events, take the radio outdoors through the summer, and host international takeovers with stations and crews from elsewhere. The booth travels — wherever there's a reason to bring the room together.
Every show is archived and available for free. No algorithm, no paywall — just honest programming from people who care about what they play.
Want to be part of it?
We're always looking for new voices. If you've got a concept, a crate, or something worth saying — pitch us a show. One-off takeovers, regular slots, collaborations: all welcome.
The people behind it
Bookers, hosts, kitchen, bar, design, emotional support. Some have stage names, some don't. All make the room what it is.
